Core responsibilities
The school social worker provides preventative services, social and emotional support, and counseling to students while serving as a liaison between the school and outside providers. They also develop social-Emotional curricula, consult with faculty and parents, and coordinate student accommodations.
Requirements summary
Candidates must hold a master’s degree and a valid illinois school service personnel certificate with an endorsement in school psychology. A minimum of five years of experience in counseling elementary-Aged children is required.
