About the role

The Substitute Paraeducator works under the direction of classroom teachers to plan, coordinate, and implement assigned classroom programs. They contribute to a warm and welcoming environment while supporting students with special needs.

Contribute to the warm and welcoming environment at Circle Academy, a non-public Special Education school serving S/ED, BD, LD youth ages 5-21. The Substitute Paraeducator (part-time) works under the direction of, and in accordance with, the classroom teacher(s) to plan, coordinate, and implement the assigned classroom program. Previous experience in a school setting is preferred. Applicant must be a dependable team player with a strong work ethic.

Candidates must have a para-professional license issued by the ISBE or able to obtain one. Bachelor’s Degree is required. Prospective employees must be at least 21 years old, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and be able to maintain our client’s confidentiality. Prospective employees must submit to a pre-employment physical, and background check.

Requirements
