The specialist performs professional nursing consultations and provides diabetes education through individual appointments, classes, and community events. They are also responsible for the implementation and evaluation of the Diabetes Self-management education program.
Candidates must hold a current Ohio Registered Nurse license, an Associate Degree in Nursing, and a Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist (CDCES) certification. A minimum of 2 years of experience in this specialty is required.
