About the role

The Math Interventionist provides targeted mathematics instruction to individual students and small groups to improve academic performance. They are also responsible for monitoring student progress, maintaining data-based documentation, and collaborating with staff to identify student needs.

Job Overview

  • The Math Interventionist is responsible for supporting student achievement in the area of Mathematics. The Interventionist provides individual or small group instruction to students who are struggling academically. This position is also responsible for monitoring, reporting, and communicating student progress and performance.
  • Responsibilities and
  • Duties:
  • Provides high quality mathematics instruction to individual students and small groups using a scripted math intervention program
  • Use data to provide instruction to students and to bring their skills to grade-level
  • Collaborates with teachers and administration to help identify best practices for individual and small groups of students
  • Uses identified research-based interventions focuses specifically on individual student needs
  • Maintains data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress
  • Assists with identifying students for placement in intervention groups
  • Participates in meetings with teachers and administration to discuss student placement and progress
  • Attends STEM Department meetings
  • Provides diagnostic assessments for students as needed
  • Provides input for program development
  • Supports implementation of assessment tools and data management systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher, principal or STEM Department head.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
  • One or more years of teaching experience.
  • Communication skills and interpersonal skills preferred.
  • PA Certification preferred.

Requirements

Candidates must hold at least a Bachelor's degree and have one or more years of teaching experience. A PA teaching certification and strong interpersonal communication skills are preferred.
