Salary Range
$15.50 - $21.50 USD hourly. The Prep Digital+ Middle School Paraeducator provides instruction and structured support for students as they complete academic work in the classroom. In this role, the paraeducator serves as a liaison between the teacher and students, helping to guide academic progress while maintaining a positive, well-managed learning environment. The position requires consistent, clear communication with teachers and support staff, as well as the ability to proactively monitor, redirect, and support student behavior. The ideal candidate has experience working with middle school students and understands the importance of building strong relationships, establishing routines, and supporting students’ developmental needs.
Qualifications
Must meet Highly Qualified requirements by: High School Diploma/GED AND an Associate’s Degree or higher OR Successful completion of 60 semester hours of college credit OR Obtain a passing score on one of the ADE approved assessments: ETS ParaPro Assessment (Praxis) ACT Workkeys Master Teacher’s ParaEducator PD Now! Active AZ Department of Public Safety (DPS) IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. Previous experience successfully supervising and assisting groups of middle school aged children, highly preferred. Regular and predictable attendance is essential. Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities
Works with small groups. Directs small groups of students under the supervision of the teacher. Assists students in understanding and following directions. Encourages students to work independently. Reinforces skills taught by the classroom Personalized Learning Advisor (teacher) to small and large groups. Helps students individually. Supervises students during lunch, breaks, pick-up, etc. Assists the classroom Personalized Learning Advisor with general cleanup and preparation. Assists Personalized Learning Advisor with routine tasks such as: Recording attendance and other information Preparing the classroom for instruction Gathering resources and supplementary materials Preparing Instructional materials. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Demonstrated excellent reading, writing, computation and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to perform routine clerical tasks in support of classroom activities. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others. LOCATION: Digital+ Site The position of the Prep Digital+ Paraeducator will either be at the ASU West Valley. TRAVEL: Occasional travel may be required for site visits, meetings, trainings and/or conferences. Locations may vary and may require overnight stays.
