  • SITE LOCATION PLACEMENT The Site Assistant for the Farmington Sites will receive their school site location, from Management, based on staff availability and levels in the area.
  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE ★ At a minimum, highschool diploma or equivalent is required (over 18+ years of age) ★ Some experience supervising children is preferred, but not required TRAINING/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES ★ Meets state-licensing agency requirement ★ Achieves DHS Clearance, with documentation, prior to starting work ★ Passes TB skin test within 30 days of hire ★ CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Safe certifications within 60 days of hire ABILITIES & SKILLS ★ Ability to participate in, plan, and lead all physical activities ★ Ability to sit and stand from a seated position on the floor when interacting with children ★ Capability to be outside for up to 30 minutes a day, year-round JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES ★ Attends to the needs of participating children at all times, while ensuring a safe and nurturing environment ★ Plans and leads daily/monthly curriculum-based lesson plans and activities approved by the Site Supervisor ★ Set up and clean up physical learning environments and prepare necessary materials and supplies, ensuring all equipment and supplies meet maintenance and storage standards ★ Establishes and maintains relationships with assigned school and YMCA staff and program participants through attendance of staff meetings, open houses, and PTA meetings ★ Maintains appropriate staff-to-child ratios and assumes shared responsibility for housekeeping tasks ★ Serves prepared healthy snacks to children and maintains required paperwork ★ Has an understanding of all emergency site procedures and record drills ★ Performs other assigned duties as directed by Supervisor The YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit (“YMCA”) is an equal opportunity employer and seeks to be an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.
