Job description

  • The Nurturing Nook in Milwaukee is a licensed childcare center seeking full-time Lead Teachers to support our Toddler/Two-Year-Old classroom and our Preschool 3s/4s classroom. To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma OR GED, and the ability to pass all background checks. Lead teachers MUST be a Level 5 or higher on the WI registry. Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm Compensation: $16-$18.50/hour, based on education and experience We are a family-oriented, close-knit organization and we have a lot to offer our next team member including:

  • Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
  • Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Use our parent communication app efficiently.
  • Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
  • Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; and maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
  • Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.
  • Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
  • Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
