Job description

East End Prep is looking for a middle school Spanish teacher with exceptionally high expectations for their students combined with a “whatever it takes” attitude toward meeting those expectations. Located in the heart of East Nashville, East End Prep is empowering elementary and middle school students with the foundation necessary to excel in middle school, high school, and eventually college completion. SUMMARY

Utilize student data, family relationships, research, and school/community resources to plan and facilitate high quality and engaging Spanish instruction. Establish strong relationships with family and community, working together to ensure students success. Maintain and carry out the belief that all students can and will achieve at high levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to

  • The Middle School Spanish teacher will provide engaging Spanish instruction to students in grades 5-8.
  • The Middle School Spanish teacher will demonstrate effective planning, teaching, and organization and maintain a positive classroom environment.
  • Collaboration with other related arts teachers and classroom teachers is a vital part of this role.
  • The Middle School Spanish Teacher will stay knowledgeable on current research, curriculum and pedagogy related to Middle School Spanish instruction.
  • Responsibilities also include monitoring student growth and completing report cards at the end of each quarter. In addition to teaching and classroom support responsibilities, the Middle School Spanish Teacher will assist in school performances (i.e. Hispanic Heritage Month) and will perform other duties as requested by administration, including lunch and arrival/dismissal duty.
