Job description
- Reporting to the Head Basketball Coach, the Assistant Strength Coach for Men's Basketball will be directly responsible for the strength and conditioning program within the Men's Basketball program.
- Work cooperatively with the Men's Basketball staff to develop and implement individualized strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes.
- Conduct physical screening/assessment of individual student-athletes and implement customized, corrective exercises.
- Maintain National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification & Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach certification (RSCC).
- Execute all duties and responsibilities within Lipscomb University, ASUN Conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Work closely with Men's Basketball staff, Strength and Conditioning staff, Athletic training staff and sports nutrition staff.
- Work cooperatively with the Athletic Training staff to support the injury prevention and/or rehabilitation of Lipscomb University student-athletes.
- Ensure proper maintenance of equipment, including weight machines and other strength and conditioning equipment, including regular inspection, recommendation on repair/replacement as necessary.
- Assist in managing, supervising and controlling the operation of the weight room.
- Familiarity with Kinexon or similar performance-improvement / injury-reduction technology preferred.
- Other duties as assigned are consistent with position and qualifications.
