Job description

Harvest Preparatory Academy is a public charter school serving PreK-12. HPA is dedicated to providing students a dynamic academic program of student centered instruction in a college preparatory setting. We are currently accepting applications/resumes for the position of Special Education Paraprofessional for our San Luis campus.

DUTIES

  • Implements the directions and meet the needs of the teacher in a timely manner.
  • Makes sure all necessary instructional materials are prepared and the classroom is ready for the next school day before leaving the school building at the end of the day.
  • Provides assistance to students who need help getting on and off of the school bus or into the building.
  • Monitors the playground and lunchroom.
  • Coordinates the distribution of students who leave the special education classroom to participate in related services or in the regular classroom.
  • Ensures class records, reports and student files are completed accurately, organized and maintained in a manner that supports ease of access.
  • Perform related duties as required

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one (1) year related experience. Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
