Description
The Villages Charter School is accepting applications for a Certified High School RTI ELA Instructional Interventionist for the 2026-2027 School year. Applicants must have a current Florida Teaching Certificate or a Current Statement of Eligibility in English 9-12. A reading endorsement is required.
Applicants must complete The Villages Charter School online application. In order for the application to be complete, you must also include copies of all transcripts, a copy of the Florida Professional Certificate or “Statement of Eligibility” from the Florida Department of Education, copy of resume and letters of recommendation.
Compensation
Based on years of experience and advanced degree.
Scope of responsibilities
The ELA Instructional Interventionist will support teachers in the continuous improvement process. The ELA Instructional Interventionist will provide procedural support guiding teachers and staff through the RTI process while helping them select/implement the most appropriate academic intervention strategies. The ELA Instructional Interventionist will also be responsible for efficiently and effectively managing all ELA Interventions.
Essential functions
The expectations include the following and other duties as assigned
- The Instructional Interventionist is responsible for the following facets of the RTI process, including scheduling and maintaining weekly, targeted student interventions, preparing documentation & student data, along with actively participating and contributing during parent meetings for all T2 & T3 students. Develop assistance plans for students.
- The ELA Instructional Interventionist communicates and collaborates with the RTI team and teachers of record and provides ELA interventions for T2 & T3 students as well as all other duties assigned by the building principal.
- Implement the Response to Intervention model for increasing student achievement and improving student behavior.
- Provide assistance to school instructional and non-instructional personnel and administrators in the implementation of instructional and behavioral approaches and techniques
- Provides direct instruction to students
- Work closely with the administration, reading and ELA teachers to ensure high fidelity implementation of the intervention for at-risk students
- Collect and analyze data for RTI students; assist teachers to drive instruction
- Establish and maintain open communication and use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly
- Communicate evaluation findings to parents, teachers, and others through written reports and oral presentations
- Participate in the periodic re-evaluation of RTI students served in the education programs
- Participate in Parent/Teacher meetings. Demonstrates competence in communicating with parents, staff, and students, establishing an environment aligned with the campus and district goals that conveys high expectations
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Principal.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) or higher from an accredited educational institute.
- A minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience at the appropriate level.
- Must hold or be eligible for certification by the State of Florida in English 9-12. (Reading Endorsement Required)
- Computer knowledge and skills in the use of current technology as an instructional resource, and fluent in the use of the internet as a resource tool for research
- Such additional or alternative qualifications to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Terms of employment
205 days – Exempt. Benefits shall be paid consistent with the VCS policy. Length of the work year and hours of employment are those established by the Board.
