Job Description

This is an independent teaching position responsible for the delivery and instruction of developmentally appropriate activities to families with children. This position is expected to act autonomously with minimal daily supervision and reports to the Lead Family Educator.

Wage

$21.63 per hour.

Schedule

  • Saturdays from approximately 10:00 am to 3:30pm, 5 1/2 hours per week.

  • Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • DUTIES: Plan and deliver parent-child developmental playgroups according to program guidelines.
  • This would include but not be limited to: preparing for groups, providing a warm and welcoming environment for participations, facilitating the playgroup experience in line with program expectations, and cleaning up after groups. Maintain accurate and timely records. Attend staff meetings, on-going in-service training and reflective supervision as required. Participate in data collection and reporting, as assigned. Other duties as assigned.
  • QualificationsREQUIREMENTS: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in social/behavioral sciences, education or related field. 5 years of relevant experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree Be available to teach classes during non-traditional hours such as evening and weekends. Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, kneel, bend, reach, and manipulate objects; move materials up to 10 lbs. on a regular basis; infrequently require moving materials weighing up to 20 lbs. Must be sensitive to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the population that Champions for Children serves. Must have a reliable car, active auto insurance and valid driver’s license.
