About the role

The role involves teaching classes and providing clinical supervision within the Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling Program. Additional duties include advising students, enhancing the curriculum, and participating in overall program activities.

Position Description

The Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling Program in the College of Behavioral & Community Sciences is seeking a 12 Month visiting assistant professor of instruction beginning in the Fall 2026 semester.

The successful candidate must have a doctorate degree.

This position will be responsible for teaching classes and providing clinical supervision in the current program.

Course workload will be 4, 4, 3.

They will also contribute to the overall program function, including advising students, enhancing the curriculum, and participating in program activities.

We seek individuals who bring enthusiasm and a deep commitment to academic excellence within the scholar-practitioner tradition.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can provide leadership, and who have experience and credentials in clinical mental health counseling and rehabilitation counseling.

This position is for one year with the possibility of extension, based on funding availability.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a doctorate in a counseling field and be a certified rehabilitation counselor or licensed/eligible for LMHC licensure in Florida. Preferred candidates have a CACREP accredited PhD and at least two years of experience in supervision, leadership, or teaching.
