Job description
- USNH Employees should apply within Workday through the Jobs Hub app The NH Literacy Institutes are a series of graduate level summer courses in English, designed for practicing teachers to continue their learning and hone their craft through thoughtful, relevant coursework and collaboration.
- This position would require the professor to create coursework for two to three graduate credits, consisting of timely and engaging content meant to be delivered in an intensive environment.
- Duties/Responsibilities Create engaging content suitable for two to three credits of graduate work, aligned with the theme of the session.
- Work with teachers of all different backgrounds and grade levels.
- Lead lessons and demonstrate strategies to participants.
- Conference with students individually and in groups.
- Promote individual student ideas and foster independence in creation of lessons, writing units, etc.
- Coordinate with the other Literacy Institute teachers and Staff to ensure all students are safe and able to thrive.
- Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience: Masters degree in education or English Minimum of five years’ teaching in either upper elementary (grades 4- 6), middle school ELA classroom, or high school English classroom, plus experience teaching college level courses or workshops.
