Position Description

Town School for Boys seeks a 4th Grade Support Teacher to assist in classroom management and student supervision in a 4th grade homeroom classroom, working closely with the 4th Grade Head Teacher to ensure a seamless end-of-year experience for students. There are also weekly faculty meetings, lunch, and recess duty obligations. This role is a leave replacement for May 18-June 3.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Head Teacher to manage the classroom
  • Exercise sound judgment and decision-making
  • Maintain established school procedures and a positive learning environment
  • Actively engage with students
  • Communicate and follow up with the Head Teacher about student behavior and any incidents
  • Intervene to assist students with conflict resolution as needed
  • Perform other school related duties such as lunch and recess supervision
  • Attend weekly faculty and grade level meetings

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree is required, with a teaching credential or Master's degree preferred. Candidates should have 1-2 years of teaching experience and knowledge of K-8 student development.
