We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Grade 3 English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of literacy development in young learners and a commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging classroom environment. This position involves creating and implementing lesson plans that build foundational reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills while ensuring a positive learning experience for all students.
Design and deliver high-quality, differentiated English Language Arts instruction that aligns with the district's curriculum and standards. Foster a classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and independent thinking. Assess student progress regularly through a variety of formative and summative assessments, and adjust instruction as needed to meet individual student needs. Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a positive and respectful learning environment. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs. Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and staff to develop and refine instructional practices. Incorporate technology into daily lessons to support student learning and engagement. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in literacy instruction and technology integration. Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field. Valid teaching certification in LA for Elementary Education or enrollment in an approved alternative certification program. Proven experience teaching English Language Arts to elementary-aged students (preferred). Strong knowledge of literacy development, including phonics, reading comprehension, writing, and grammar. Experience with or openness to integrating technology into the classroom, including educational software, digital tools, and online learning platforms. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to differentiate instruction for students with diverse learning needs. Passion for fostering a love of reading and writing in young learners. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families. Desired Skills: Experience with digital learning platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, Seesaw, etc.). Familiarity with using interactive whiteboards, tablets, and other tech tools to enhance learning. Willingness to learn new technologies and innovate in the classroom to improve student outcomes.
