Preschool Assistant Early Childhood Education Teacher

• Overview The YMCA of Northern Colorado is looking for creative, enthusiastic early childhood assistant teachers to join our preschool program.

• This position is part time, year-round up to 28 hours per week.
• Additional hours may be available during summers.
• The salary range is $16.00-$22.00 per hour based on experience and availability plus a 10% salary bonus for staff who are bilingual in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

Responsible for supporting and implementing the program curriculum to meet the needs of the children and the families in the program. Provides care to children ranging in the ages from 2 1/2-6 years old. Ensures a clean, safe and friendly environment for all participants. Develops positive relationships with children and parents, resulting in the development of friendships, Y advocates and volunteers. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age. Must be AECT Qualified for the State of Colorado. High School diploma or equivalent. Previous experience working with children. Willingness to participate in courses and trainings focused on child development and early childhood education. CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
