- Summary: We are seeking an experienced, reflective, and mission-aligned Senior Kindergarten Teacher to join our lower school faculty. This role is ideal for a seasoned educator passionate about early childhood education within a structured, values-based environment. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in child development and a commitment to academic excellence. Key Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum Development Design and deliver a developmentally appropriate, academically rich kindergarten curriculum aligned with school standards and best practices in early childhood education Integrate literacy, numeracy, social studies, science, and creative arts into a cohesive and engaging classroom experience Differentiate instruction to meet a range of developmental levels and learning styles Utilize ongoing formative and summative assessments to guide instruction and communicate student progress Classroom Environment & Student Development Create a structured, warm, and inclusive classroom environment that supports social-emotional growth, independence, and curiosity Model and reinforce positive behavior, respect, and responsibility consistent with the school’s values Support students’ early development of executive functioning, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Collaboration & Communication Work closely with grade-level colleagues, specialists, and administrators to ensure program coherence Maintain strong, professional communication with parents through conferences, written reports, and regular updates Collaborate with learning support staff to address individual student needs Professional Responsibilities Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflective practice Participate actively in faculty meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities Contribute to the broader life of the school, including committees, admissions events, or extracurricular programs as appropriate Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field strongly preferred Minimum of 3 -5 years of lead teaching experience in early childhood or primary grades Demonstrated expertise in child development and early learning pedagogy Experience in independent or faith-based schools preferred Strong classroom management skills grounded in positive, developmentally appropriate practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to the mission and values of Episcopal education Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and retirement contributions Professional development support A collegial and mission-driven working environment and joy in learning takes root.
