Job description
Assistant cheerleading coach – walsh jesuit high school
- Walsh Jesuit High School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Cheerleading Coach to support the Head Coach in all aspects of the program, including building a positive, inclusive, and student-centered culture that aligns with the mission of Walsh Jesuit and promotes teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and personal growth. The Assistant Coach reports to the Head Coach and Athletic Director, with responsibilities beginning in the summer to support workouts and summer leagues and continuing through March. Responsibilities may include: Coaching & Instruction
- Assist with practices and competitions
- Teach and reinforce fundamentals, skills, and routines
- Provide small group and individual instruction
- Support game strategy
- Work under the direction of the Head Coach
- Student-Athlete Development
- Build positive relationships with student-athletes
- Reinforce team expectations, culture, and sportsmanship
- Program Support
- Assist with tryouts and athlete evaluations
- Support eligibility tracking, equipment, and program logistics
- Contribute to off-season training
- Communication
- Communicate regularly with the Head Coach
- Provide feedback to athletes
- Maintain professional interactions with parents and staff
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience coaching cheerleading; demonstrated knowledge of cheer stunting, tumbling, choreography, and safety protocols
- Ability to develop student-athletes both athletically and personally in a faith-based educational environment
- Excellent communication and planning skills
- Familiarity with OHSAA rules and regulations
