This role helps keep the office organized and running smoothly while providing support to multiple teams. It is a good fit for someone looking to gain basic office experience in a professional setting, with opportunity to learn academic medical development. This position requires 10–15 hours/week, during business hours Monday –
  • Friday 8:15am – 5:00pm.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Key Responsibilities Help with general office tasks such as organizing files and materials Assist with scheduling meetings and setting up meeting logistics\ Prepare simple documents, agendas, and notes Make updates to unit one-pager templates and refresh as needed Help maintain shared trackers and task lists Assist with internal communications and email follow-ups Support office organization, supply tracking, and basic coordination tasks Help with internal meetings or small events as needed Complete other administrative tasks as assigned Learning Outcomes Direct experience in a professional office environment Exposure to how teams collaborate and stay organized Basic skills in scheduling, communication, and task management Experience using common office tools and systems QualificationsQualifications Education, Experience and Competencies: Currently enrolled as a West Virigina University student or graduate student (all majors welcome; business, communications, or related fields preferred) In good academic standing with the University and free of any disciplinary actions Organized, dependable, and willing to learn Strong attention to detail Basic communication skills (written and verbal) Fluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Preferred (Not Required) Any prior office, customer service, or campus involvement experience Physical requirements While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear.
