About the role

Implement patient plans of care and provide hands-on speech therapy treatment to patients. Responsibilities include documenting progress, educating families, and maintaining a clean clinical environment.

GO Physical Therapy has an opening for a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant at our Children’s Rehab Center in Grand Island, NE. This position offers part-time to full-time hours based on clinic needs.

Responsibilities

and Duties:

  • Assure the quality of patient care and treatment programs by providing hands on treatment and direction to subordinate staff on matters of treatment.
  • Implement patient plan of care and goals using appropriate Speech Pathology skills.
  • Be able to provide patient care during scheduled hours as assigned by a supervisor.
  • Actively listen to patient and family concerns when modifying treatment plans.
  • Educate and motivate patients and families to learn and improve functional activities.
  • Assure the quality of overall perceived patient care.
  • Clean and prepare equipment for therapy session.
  • Straighten and clean rooms.
  • Record data progress during therapy session.
  • Perform administrative duties.
  • Document progress, home programs, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Confer with other staff members to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment plans.
  • Maintain patient and family confidentiality at all times.
  • Participate in continuing education activities and obtain required contact hours.
  • All job duties considered essential to job performance.
  • Additional job duties as assigned.
  • Adherence to GO Physical Therapy Policies
  • Demonstrate positive rapport with staff members, developing positive employee relations.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns.
  • Take direction and initiate actions that will allow the assumption of cross-functional duties to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Follow GO Physical Therapy policies and procedures, including safety processes.
  • Job Requirements
  • Must meet Nebraska Licensure requirements - BA in Communication Disorders.
  • Must be licensed as a Speech Pathologist Assistant in the state of Nebraska or able to obtain licensure.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Physical Demands/Working Conditions
  • Physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, and lifting.

Requirements

Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders. Candidates must be licensed as a Speech Pathologist Assistant in Nebraska or be eligible to obtain licensure.
