- Plan DAP activities for students in a safe, creative, and inviting learning environment
- Implement routines/transitions consistently and effectively
- Prepare the learning environment so it is ready upon arrival, which includes rotating learning materials when appropriate
- Maintain a clean and orderly physical environment
- Uses appropriate guidance strategies that contribute to a positive classroom environment
- Participate in activities with children
- Reinforce positive behavior and speaks with children using positive phrases and tone

- Collaborate with agencies to work on goals and objectives for individual children. (Not applicable for all teaching staff, only those who worked with outside agencies)

- Maintain confidentiality of children, parents, and fellow staff members Accept feedback from supervisors and uses it to improve job performance
- Appropriately shares information with other staff members, parents, visitors, and observers

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. Certified Teachers are hired with a bachelor's degree and a Louisiana teaching certificate or equivalent in another state. If the candidate only possesses the minimum qualification of a bachelor's degree, the candidate will be hired as a Lead Teacher. At which point the teaching certificate is obtained, the candidate will be advanced to the certified teacher title. Certified Teachers must have a valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate prior to hire or must provide the equivalent from another state and be eligible for a Louisiana certificate, which must be completed within 60 days of hire. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Due to the nature and/or position responsibilities, these positions shall be subject to alcohol/drug testing in accordance with University Policy Statement 67. Must be able to sit/sit on the floor, stoop, kneel, crouch and stand for extended periods of time. Capable of lifting, holding children and/or items that weigh 20 to 40lbs or more and possibly to different parts of the building on occasion. Must be capable of completing daily housekeeping tasks (sweeping, removing trash, washing materials and food prep).This position will require a physical evaluation based on the physical demands required.
