GSRP Lead Teacher – Preschool Classroom

The Learning Experience – South Lyon Township is seeking a qualified and passionate GSRP Lead Teacher to guide a preschool classroom serving 4-year-old learners in our state-funded program. This role focuses on preparing children for kindergarten through structured, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that support academic, social, and emotional growth.

This position is ideal for an experienced Early Childhood Educator who is committed to high-quality instruction and enjoys building strong relationships with children, families, and teaching teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily instruction in a GSRP preschool classroom Implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with program requirements Support school readiness through early literacy, math, and social-emotional learning Maintain a structured, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment Document and track student progress in accordance with GSRP standards Communicate regularly with families regarding development and classroom activities Collaborate with assistant teachers and center leadership Ensure compliance with Michigan licensing and GSRP program requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required Valid teaching certificate with Early Childhood endorsement preferred Must meet Michigan GSRP Lead Teacher qualification requirements Prior preschool or GSRP classroom experience preferred Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practice CPR and First Aid certification preferred
