Together with families and communities, we strive to create joyful, academically excellent schools that equip students with the skills and confidence to pursue their chosen paths—whether college, career, or beyond—so they can lead fulfilling lives and contribute to a more just world.Job DescriptionPosition Overview We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Extended School Year (ESY) Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities during the summer program. The paraprofessional will work under the direction of a certified special education teacher to help students maintain essential academic, behavioral, and functional skills outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct support to students in small group and one-on-one settingsAssist in implementing IEP goals, accommodations, and modificationsSupport students with academic tasks, communication, and social skillsReinforce instruction and practice skills introduced by the teacherAssist with behavior management and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)Help maintain a structured, safe, and supportive learning environmentSupport students with daily living or functional skills as neededCollect data and provide feedback to the teacher on student progressAssist with classroom setup, materials, and organizationQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (required)Experience working with children or students with disabilities preferredAbility to follow direction and work collaboratively with a teamStrong communication and interpersonal skillsPatience, flexibility, and a commitment to supporting all learnersPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience as a paraprofessional or instructional aideFamiliarity with special education practices and behavior supportsExperience in school or summer program settingsAdditional
