Job description

Position Summary

The Tennis Instructor is responsible for teaching fundamental tennis skills to youth participants in a fun, safe, and engaging environment. This position is ideal for high school students with a passion for tennis and an interest in working with younger children. Instructors will lead drills, assist with skill development, and promote sportsmanship and teamwork. Key Responsibilities: Lead and supervise youth tennis clinics, practices, and activities Teach basic tennis skills including grip, footwork, serving, and rallying Create a positive and encouraging learning environment for all participants Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants at all times Set up and take down equipment before and after sessions Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and staff Assist with organizing drills, games, and skill-building activities Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating good sportsmanship and attitude

Qualifications

Current high school student. Basic knowledge and experience playing tennis Ability to work well with children of various ages and skill levels Strong communication and leadership skills Reliable, responsible, and punctual Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working with youth (sports, camps, babysitting, etc.) Participation in school or competitive tennis programs Work Schedule: Seasonal Hours may include mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings depending on program needs Compensation: Hourly wage: $10 Physical Requirements: Ability to be active outdoors for extended periods Ability to demonstrate tennis techniques and drills Roosevelt City Requires applicants for this position to pass a background check before their hire date.
