About the role

Provide clinically competent treatment, assessment, and intervention programs for student-athletes while documenting care according to standards. Responsibilities include covering practices, home and away games, and teaching CPR and First Aid.

  • Function: A key member of the school district coaching staff responsible for providing clinically competent treatment programs for all assigned student-athletes and to document care according to current standards. Represents school district within the community. Must be able to work some evenings, weekends and holidays, as is standard for this profession.

  • Responsibilities: Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job Demonstrates knowledge of injury, illness or disability of student-athlete and/or patient population served and clinical competency and performance in the assessment, treatment strategies and intervention programs; equipment/modalities used in treatment; and documentation according to departmental standards Demonstrates adequate communication skills, both verbal and written Demonstrates appropriate interpersonal skills with patients, family, staff and others Demonstrates and promotes being a good team member as displayed by flexibility, willingness to assist different departmental service areas showing respect and cooperation with all departments and individuals Provides professional education to students, staff and the public Demonstrates commitment and support of the school district and athletic department mission and core values
  • Provides student-athlete and/or patient care daily: productivity standards to be set per clinical area
  • Service during traditional practice time, 3:00 - 6:00 weekdays Service during all pre-season football practices Service during all "home" events Service at all football games, home and away Monitoring district "heat" practice plan Daily reporting of injuries Tracking injuries (diagnosis, treatment, return to play) Teaching CPR and First Aid Service during post-season events hosted at district schools

Equipment

This position may require the ability to use SMART boards and iPads in addition to basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machine. Must always comply with USD 259's guidelines for equipment use.
