  • This position is responsible for: Under the general direction of the Corps Officer, the Youth Activities Coordinator plans, develops, schedules, coordinates, facilitates, and monitors a variety of recreational activities, events and trips to meet the needs and interests of specific groups participating in The Salvation Army programs.

  • Responsibilities: Plans, promotes, coordinates, and facilitates activities on a regular basis to include recreational, entertaining, educational, and/or devotional topics. Prepares posters, flyers, and/or press-releases to promote activities and encourage participation. Directs the set-up and clean-up work needed for all programs and activities.

  • Conditions: Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Required to grasp objects, push and pull objects, bend, stand, walk, squat or kneel. Moderate to high mobility; duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing and walking on a frequent change basis. Work is performed in a combination of office and field settings. Frequently required to sit and reach, and must be able to move around the work environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work will typically be indoors in a heated and air-conditioned office or location, with a mixture of natural, incandescent, and fluorescent light with moderate noise levels or be subject to working conditions. Work may require performance of duties where exposure to communicable and infectious diseases are possible. Use of a computer is required; and the ability to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate activities is required.
