Job description

Description Palm Beach Day Academy (PBDA) is seeking a part time School Security Officer for the 2026-2027 school year. This individual will rotate between campuses and provide security coverage by physical and remote/camera monitoring. The position also requires security presence at selected special school events as well as familiarization with school community members to ensure only authorized individuals gain access to school property and functions. Ideally, qualified applicants will have prior law enforcement experience, obtain/ possess a Florida Security Officer’s (Class D) license and a Statewide Firearm’s (Class G) license.

Duties and Responsibilities

Directly monitor daily student drop off/pick up. Ensure all exterior points of entry remain closed and secured. Assist in Emergency Preparedness drills. Rotate responsibilities between upper and lower campuses. Ensure physical security of all school property via school security cameras and active patrols. Monitor and control all on-campus vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Provide security coverage of after school events as directed. Oversee pedestrian/student movements between the main building, gymnasium, sports fields, etc. Maintain communication and act as a liaison with local authorities and school officials.

Ability to acquire or possess and maintain a Florida Class D and G licenses. Previous law enforcement experience (preferred). Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferred). Compensation Hourly pay commensurate with experience. Please upload resume, licenses and certifications.
