About the role

The faculty member will teach six graduate-level courses per year and participate in on-campus residencies. Additional duties include academic advising, mentoring students, and serving on university committees.

Description The School of Counseling at Divine Mercy University (DMU) invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. This position will involve teaching assigned coursework, student advising, participation in on-campus residencies, as well as potential administrative duties.

Applicants must have the following minimal qualifications

a doctoral degree in Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited institution; Experience teaching at the graduate level, evidence of recent relevant work in the field, including teaching, clinical practice, research, or publications; and current licensure or license eligibility in the state of residence.

Preference will be given to candidates who (1) are graduates of a CACREP-accredited program, (2) have teaching experience at the graduate level, and (3) demonstrate a commitment to professional identity. Applicants without a significant academic track record, but with demonstrated strengths in clinical training, supervision, and teaching, will be given serious consideration. The rank of appointment and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.

Requirements

Applicants must have the following minimal qualifications: A doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited institution; Be Licensed or License-eligible in the state of residence Possess advanced clinical, supervision, and teaching skills Demonstrate a commitment to counseling professional identity and development Exemplify a commitment to diverse worldviews and faiths while upholding the Catholic-Christian vision of the person.

Duties and Responsibilities

Teach 6 graduate-level courses per year (8-week terms) Participate in on-campus Residencies as needed (up to 3 times per year) Academic advising and mentoring of students Service in departmental and university committees Active commitment to the counseling profession To be considered, the following is required: Current curriculum vitae. Notes for International Applicants

Applicants whose primary language is other than English must provide proficiency in both written and spoken English appropriate for masters-level teaching in the United States of America. Applicants holding degrees earned at an institution outside the United States of America must demonstrate post-secondary education that is equivalent to a U.S. doctoral degree in counseling supervision. It is the applicant’s responsibility to have all official transcripts submitted from each university translated into English.
