The Assistant Teacher creates a nurturing and engaging learning environment by implementing developmentally appropriate activities for young children. They are responsible for maintaining a safe, healthy space and complying with university and regulatory policies.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a CDA, an associate degree, or a high school diploma with specific credit hours or certifications. Physical ability to lift 40 pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions is required.
Have earned at least one of the following: Associate’s degree (or higher) in early childhood education, early childhood development, child and family studies or a closely related field Two or more years as an assistant teacher in a licensed child development center Strong interpersonal, collaboration, time management, flexibility, and communication skills. Pay Range The projected hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $19.80- $24.20. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
