In this life‑changing role, you will open your home to a child or teen in need of safety, stability, and support. Foster parents provide a nurturing environment that promotes healing, growth, and connection during a critical time in a young person’s life.
About the Role
As a Foster Parent, you will welcome a child or youth into your home and provide day‑to‑day care, structure, and emotional support. You’ll work closely with KDC’s foster care team to ensure the child’s needs are met and that they feel safe, valued, and supported. This is a deeply rewarding opportunity to make a direct, lasting impact. Responsibilities Provide a safe and supportive home environment Assist with daily routines such as meals, school preparation, and transportation Support emotional and behavioral needs with patience and consistency Encourage socialization and community involvement Attend medical, school, and therapeutic appointments as needed Maintain documentation and communicate regularly with the KDC care team Collaborate with case managers to support the child’s goals and well‑being Compensation & Support Competitive tax‑free stipend based on the child’s level of need Comprehensive training and licensing support 24/7 on‑call support from KDC foster care staff Access to clinical, behavioral, and case management guidance Respite support options available Who This is Great For Caregivers or human service professionals Empty nesters or retirees Individuals or families looking to make a meaningful impact Anyone with a passion for supporting children and teens Why Choose KDC?
