About the Role
We are seeking a Educational Specialist to join our Early Head Start team. This unique program combines Early Head Start and Family Child Care services to provide full-day, home-based childcare and family support for low-income families with children under age four. As a Educational Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting and coaching Family Child Care Providers to deliver high-quality, developmentally appropriate care for infants and toddlers. What You’ll Do Develop and implement curriculum for home-based Family Child Care programs. Coach providers on lesson planning, addressing mixed-age groups, special needs, and behavior management. Conduct enhanced home visits to Family Child Care Providers serving Early Head Start children. Provide on-site training on child development, curriculum planning, daily routines, and space design. Support providers in completing developmental assessments and maintaining child observations in My Teaching Strategies. Assist with family recruitment and parent workshops. Maintain accurate documentation of visits and child development activities. Offer technical support to childcare providers. Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor. What We’re Looking For Education: BA in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
Experience
At least 1 year of classroom experience and/or curriculum development for infants and toddlers.
Skills
Strong knowledge of child development (birth to age 3), excellent communication and writing skills.
Language
