Job description

  • Description Indian Rocks Christian School (IRCS) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Christian educator to Teach in our Preschool.
  • The ideal candidate will have a heart for Christ-centered education and a commitment to teaching from a biblical worldview while inspiring students academically and spiritually.
  • To help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians to the praise and glory of God in keeping with the Mission Statement.
  • Reflect the school's purpose: Honor Christ in every class and activity.
  • Lead students to a realization of their self-worth in Christ and help them grow in their faith.
  • Cooperate with Indian Rocks Christian School and Indian Rocks Baptist Church Administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the school's operation.
  • Teach classes as assigned, following the prescribed scope and sequence as scheduled by the Administration.
  • Integrate Biblical principles and the Christian Philosophy of Education throughout the curriculum and activities.
  • Maintain proper discipline in the classroom and school premises for an orderly learning environment.
  • Ensure the Safety and security of students at all times Follow Biblical principles in dealing with students, parents, staff, and Administration in a positive Christian/Biblical manner, including all conflict resolution matters following the proper line of authority.
  • Plan lessons in coordination with the curriculum guide and with student’s individual needs, interests, and abilities, challenging each to do their best academically.
  • Adequately plan for substitute teachers when needed.
  • Seek Professional Development Opportunities to enhance new skills and utilize valid instructional strategies to achieve curriculum goals Maintain regular and accurate attendance and learning records to meet the demands for a comprehensive knowledge of each student's progress and to adequately inform students, parents, and Administration of progress or deficiencies through proper documentation.

Requirements

Education: A bachelor’s degree in education or related experience is preferred. A collaborative, supportive leader that shows humility, drive, emotional intelligence, positivity, and loyalty to the IRCS vision and mission Experience working with young children and the ability to work in a potentially loud setting with patience The individual must stay updated on training requirements and communicate changes to the Supervisor and Human Resources Director.
