Job Summary The Substitute Teacher fills in for the classroom teacher in their temporary absence. The Substitute Teacher follows the plans, guides, provided by classroom teacher. This position reports to the principal.
Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school. Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Support and adhere to the Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school. Follow instruction set by classroom teacher with logically sequenced objectives based on adopted curriculum. Provide appropriate material and resources for students to engage in learning. Practice positive, consistent discipline in the management of the classroom. Maintain current and accurate records according to school policies. Skills Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church Knowledge of instructional methods/strategies and curriculum differentiation Able to work well with others in the school community Ability to manage student behavior in classroom setting. Skill in handling multiple tasks simultaneously Skill in job appropriate technology Skill in managing conflicts effectively Skill in organizational management and delegation of responsibilities
