Job description
- Summary The Department of Counseling & School Psychology seeks to recruit a diverse pool of individuals who would be interested in serving as part-time Adjunct Faculty.
- In addition to the campus in Miami Shores, we have satellite sites throughout Florida and in the Bahamas.
- The Adjunct Faculty member will teach courses in the graduate programs at locations in Miami Shores, Off-Campus sites, and Online.
- Courses are delivered in several formats, including asynchronous/online, hybrid, and face-to-face.
- Level II clearance is required.
- Essential Functions Courses are delivered in several formats, including asynchronous/online, hybrid, and face-to-face, and terms are seven, 10, and 16 weeks in length (depending on program).
- Class times vary but are generally 3 hours each week on weekdays or Saturdays.
- Generally, graduate courses are offered 3 hours once a week (during the evening).
- Adjuncts are responsible for consulting with respective Program Directors in the development and execution of the course as well as additional responsibilities outlined in the faculty handbook.
- Qualifications/Requirements Master's degree required.
- Doctoral degree in the discipline of graduate teaching preferred for MS/EdS courses and required for PhD or EdD courses.
- Applied experience in the field is required.
- Prior college-level teaching experience with an adult student population is preferred.
- Please note – if teaching in a fully online modality, completion of Barry University’s Online Instructor training will be required.
- Level II clearance is required.
