Job description
Serving with Compassion, Creativity, and Consistency. $18-22 an hour 2 openings
Sunday to Thursday OR Tuesday to Saturday Either 5 days (8 hour shifts) or 4 days (10 hour shifts), mostly after school hours, with some flexibility
Position Summary
The Recreation Specialist functions as a contributing member of the Recreation Service Team. The recreation specialist will assist the Recreation Director and team members to design and implement recreational activities. In this role, you will create and monitor individual goals for each client and report on the progress of the goal during treatment team meetings and staff meetings.
Responsibilities
Demonstrate the qualities of a high-performing team member every day. Work with staff across departments to create and implement a comprehensive recreation plan that fosters a positive learning environment for children. Assist residential program staff in meeting the needs of children in various program settings as needed. Complete reports and documentation accurately and on time, ensuring professionalism and compliance with standards. Organize and oversee recreational and leisure activities for children, both on-site and off-site, while considering their social, vocational, and cultural interests. Ensure Safety and Well-Being – Supervise children effectively, use appropriate discipline, and respond to behavioral, emotional, and medical needs promptly. Engage in Professional Development – Participate in meetings, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and growth. Provide Safe Transportation – Transport youth, families, and agency affiliates safely as needed. Apply TCI and CARE training Provide CFTSS services for eligible residents Utilize goals and objectives outlined in CFTSS treatment plans to design and provide services Document CFTSS services in Agency EHR to record and bill for services through Medicaid
Requirements
Education: Associate's degree with related educational focus preferred Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement Experience: 1-2 years of related experience Driver's license and ability to maintain insurance throughout employment required.
