Position Title

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) / ABA Therapist Make a meaningful impact every day by supporting learners with evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This part-time role is based in Tucson, Arizona (85757 area) and offers a consistent weekday schedule. Location & Schedule: Tucson, Arizona 85757 | Monday–Thursday | 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. | 20–25 hours per week General Purpose: The ABA Therapist/Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct 1:1 behavioral intervention service to teach communication, social, and daily living skills. This position works under the supervision of a BCBA/BCaBA and follows individualized treatment plans to help clients build meaningful, functional skills.

Responsibilities

Builds and maintains a therapeutic relationship by pairing as a reinforcing presence and increasing the value of social interaction. Teaches safe, socially appropriate replacement behaviors to build communication, social interaction, and problem-solving skills. Fades prompts appropriately to promote successful, independent responding. Increases safe and appropriate replacement behaviors by providing access to reinforcers (desired items/actions, attention, or removal of demands/aversive situations) as outlined in the treatment plan. Collects accurate behavior data (e.g., A-B-C, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, and interval-based recording). Completes each session with a timely session note and follows documentation guidelines. Implements treatment plan goals and interventions using sound judgment and seeks consultation when needed. Partners with families and the supervising BCBA/BCaBA to deliver services effectively and respectfully within the home, clinic, or community environment. Provides parent/caregiver education related to reinforcement strategies and early intervention, as directed by the supervisor. Educates all stakeholders on the role of ABA-based interventions and practices within the boundaries of the RBT scope of work. Maintains professional boundaries and avoids multiple relationships in accordance with ethical guidelines.

Qualifications

Minimum requirement: High School Diploma.

Preferred

two years of completed coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral science, human development, or related fields. Must be willing to get an RBT certification within six months of hire and maintain that certification as a Registered Behavior Technician issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
