  • Job Summary: We are currently seeking a Part Time Education Support Professional to provide direct care, academic support, and positive engagement for students throughout school and program settings.
  • Key Responsibilities: In this position, you are responsible for caring for the students directly.
  • For this role, relationship building is essential, as you are asked to assist the students’ needs in the areas of education, therapeutic/behavioral support, and hygiene as needed.
  • GLS is both a therapeutic day school & residential treatment center for children and young adults with Autism and neurological, emotional and/or developmental disabilities.
  • We have received the National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) award for three consecutive years.
  • Our 160-acre campus in the countryside near Oconomowoc provides an ideal setting for our students to learn, develop and achieve their potential.
  • The school calendar follows the typical 180 educational days with the opportunity to attend Extended School Year for students in need of this programming.

Responsibilities

Meets with classroom teacher and/or immediate supervisor to discuss daily activities, academics, behavioral support, social and/or medical concerns related to the students. Completes and submits paperwork, instructional data, and behavior data in a timely fashion as scheduled per students assigned. Uses Agency-approved treatment techniques in supervising and educating students upon completing training Demonstrates familiarity with behavior management and behavior education techniques used at TRS. Engages students in active learning as directed by the classroom teacher. Provides support for all staff working within the classroom setting and ensures that Education Department policies are withheld.
