Position Summary

Dominican University invites applicants for adjunct teaching positions in nursing for future semesters. Instructors are sought on a rolling basis in anticipation of future program needs. There is no start date or deadline for applications; candidates may be contacted regarding their interest in future opportunities as they arise. Adjunct Faculty appointments are per semester and contingent upon enrollment. Responsibilities will include undergraduate instruction in didactic and/or clinical sections in the area(s) of expertise.

  • Participate in mentoring and role modeling for nursing students
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Placement Manager for appropriate and optimal student placement
  • Partner with the Clinical Simulation Manager to develop, implement, and evaluate clinical scenarios within the simulation laboratory environment to optimize student learning outcomes

Required Qualifications

  • Illinois license as a Professional Registered Nurse
  • MSN
  • Two years of current nursing practice experience
  • Current clinical practice in one or more of the following: Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Community Health nursing, Mental Health, and/or Medical/Surgical nursing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree
  • Evidence of undergraduate teaching excellence

  • $1,400 - $6,000. The actual pay is determined based on credentials, experience, course level, and credit hours. Pay could differ for directed study courses.

Requirements

Requires an MSN, a valid Illinois Professional Registered Nurse license, and at least two years of current nursing practice experience. Preferred candidates hold a doctoral degree and have a proven track record of undergraduate teaching excellence.
