Are you passionate about empowering families and ensuring children are ready for school? Vogel is seeking a dedicated Clinical Family Support Specialist to provide direct support to families in our Head Start and Early Head Start programs. In this vital role, you’ll coordinate services through case management, home visits, and family needs assessments while helping parents set and achieve their personal and family goals. Your work will be grounded in building positive, goal-oriented relationships with families, supporting their engagement, and connecting them with essential community resources.

As part of our team, you'll be expected to familiarize yourself with important care models, including the Pyramid Model, Conscious Discipline, and Trauma-Informed Care—all of which guide our approach to supporting families at Vogel.

This is a full-time salaried position with a salary range of $55,000 - $66,250 per year.

What we do Vogel is a well-established nonprofit organization located in Dallas with a history spanning over 36 years. Our core mission is centered around providing exceptional care and early childhood education for young children from homeless and domestic abuse shelters, all within our NAEYC accredited child care facility. Our innovative approach works to support both children and their parents through a two-generation strategy, offering resources that set families on a path toward a brighter future.

What you’ll do

• Enrollment & Data Management
• Maintain full program enrollment in compliance with Head Start standards.
• Manage the full application process: conduct eligibility interviews, process documentation, and maintain accurate data/waitlists in the system.
• Lead continuous recruitment and re-enrollment efforts through outreach events, open houses, and community engagement.

• Family Support & Self-Sufficiency
• Conduct home visits to assess family needs, establish goals via the Family Partnership Agreement, and provide coaching for self-sufficiency.
• Provide direct support or referrals to families for critical services (education, employment, housing, health, crisis intervention, public assistance).
• Monitor and address child attendance issues and support families in obtaining required health and dental exams.

Parent Engagement & Community Building • Lead parent engagement initiatives

• recruit parents for meetings and Policy Council, and plan and implement training based on family needs.
• Serve as a community liaison by building referral partnerships with outside agencies to connect families with resources.
• Coordinate with teaching and administrative staff to monitor family progress and assist with children's transition to new programs.

• Compliance & General
• Ensure all duties meet Head Start Program Performance Standards and state licensing requirements.
• Maintain accurate records, complete timesheets, and adhere to all agency policies, including data privacy and the responsibility to report abuse/neglect.
• Attend required training and represent the agency professionally.

• What will make you successful in this role (skills)
• Master's degree in social work, with full licensure at the LMSW level.
• Experience with direct services practice in mental health, maternal/child health, child welfare, or other related field is preferred, as is familiarity with the dynamics of childhood trauma and social/emotional development of both early childhood and adult development.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Head Start or Early Head Start program, REQUIRED.
• Must possess effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Must possess an ability to interact with children and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Experience working with homeless families/low-income families, preferred.
