The EMS Instructor is responsible for teaching, supervising, and evaluating student learning experiences. They also provide guidance for students' intellectual and professional development and collaborate with faculty and clinical agencies.

Description

The purpose of this position is to assist Mercy College in fulfilling its mission by facilitating student acquisition of the required knowledge, attitudes, and skills, necessary for success in the student's chosen career in health sciences.

Essential functions

Provides teaching, supervision and evaluation of student learning experiences.

Provides individual advisement and guidance for intellectual and professional development of students.

Collaborates with other faculty, preceptors, field faculty, and clinical agencies to provide optimum learning opportunities for students.

Develops, implements and revises learning activities in a limited area.

Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required

  • 4-year degree preferred.
  • Associate degree in emergency medicine or related field.
  • Two years’ experience as a Paramedic.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and/or training others.
  • Current and valid Paramedic certification.

Requirements

A 4-year degree is preferred, along with an associate degree in emergency medicine or a related field. Candidates should have two years of experience as a Paramedic and a current Paramedic certification.
