Midland University - Fremont, NE 68025Midland University, a private, liberal arts University in Fremont, Nebraska, is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to assist in the University's Sports Medicine department. This is a full-time, 12-month appointment with start-date to be determined. The ideal candidate will be committed to the total development of the student-athlete as an integral part of a diverse campus community. The candidate must also demonstrate the ability and desire to work within a medical model team overseen by the Head Athletic Trainer and local volunteer team physicians. The candidate(s) will be part of a team consisted of Assistant ATs, GAs, contracted PRN ATs as well as undergraduate interns and perform as a preceptor for the Masters of Athletic Training (MAT) program. This person must have an understanding of intercollegiate athletic training.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide care for the sports medicine concerns of 900 student athletes in 33 varsity and JV sports at Midland University. Knowledge of the prevention, care, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Knowledge of injury tracking software / electronic medical records software (ATS). Ability to work independently within a Sports Medicine Team environment Establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, coaches, student athletes, physicians, and other allied health personnel. Possess problem solving and critical thinking skills, innovation and creativity, adaptability, initiative and stress tolerance to various situations. Good organizational and time management skills, good interpersonal communication skills and basic computer skills and working understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel. Communicate effectively with a variety of professionals at all levels. Travel obligations with some teams. Other duties as assigned QualificationsRequired Qualifications: Experience 1 year minimum with 3 years preferred Education Bachelors in Athletic Training required, Masters preferred Certification/License: BOC Certified Nebraska Licensure or eligible Certified in American Heart Association or American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED (Instructor Certification preferred) NPI Number required
