About the role

Lead small language arts classes using company-created curriculum for advanced students. Manage classroom dynamics and provide feedback on tests while building relationships with students and families.

We have the perfect opportunity for you!

We are currently looking for candidates with a wide range of availability to substitute our classes in the afternoons/evenings Monday-Friday, as well as our classes on Saturday and Sunday.

We are continually opening new classes, so there will be an opportunity to be assigned to a class once one becomes available.

Skills and experience requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in education or a humanities field is strongly preferred.
  • Strong content knowledge in reading, writing, and/or grammar.
  • Experience teaching or tutoring students.
  • Classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is preferred.

Not Required

• A formal teaching credential is not required for this position.

Schedule

AoPS Academy is an afterschool program with classes in the evenings and on weekends. Candidates must be available to teach during weekday after-school hours (as early as 4pm) and/or on weekends.

We are currently looking for someone who can specifically sub for week day classes at 4:30pm.

This position requires a minimum initial commitment of about 3 hours per week for each assigned class.

Each course meets once per week for 1 hour 45 minutes.
