Job Description
New Hope’s Education Department has an immediate opening for a Special Education Certified Teacher. This position provides an appropriate education for children enrolled in our on-site, accredited school. Full Time – 40 hours per week Schedule: Monday – Friday Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Providing a quality and differentiated education experience for every student Demonstrating subject matter knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching students with a variety of disabilities Providing a safe and therapeutic classroom environment Data collection including grades, assessments, and student portfolios Collaborating with legal guardians, multi-disciplinary team members, and other stakeholders Designing and implementing student learning plans including IEPs and 504s Completing required paperwork and meeting deadlines Participating in professional development and required trainings to maintain S.C. teacher licensure Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related area Current state teaching certification in Special Education Professional verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, online gradebooks and learning management systems
