Swim Instructor

Description The Westfield Area YMCA is looking for reliable and enthusiastic individuals to join our growing Aquatics team at our Cranford branch! We offer a fun, positive and inclusive work environment.

The primary duties of a Swim Instructor include, but are not limited to

• Conducting all classes in a safe manner taking into consideration the level of class that is being taught and the participants’ abilities Ensuring proper feedback and evaluations are being recorded and communicated to participant and parent/guardian
• Hours: Monday and Thursday 3pm to 7pm.
• Pay
• Range:
• Minor: $16.00-$17.00, based on certifications and experience
• Adult: $16.75-$22.00, based on certifications and experience

Requirements

• Must 16 years of age or older Must possess YMCA Swim Instructor Certification along with BLS, First Aid and Emergency Oxygen certifications or equivalent Must possess the capabilities and maturity to handle the responsibilities involved in maintaining a safe pool Ability to create and maintain positive relations with members, participants and staff Excellent communication skills *
