- What is needed for this job: 18+ years of age, 3-5 years of experience in gymnastics setting High school diploma or equivalent Have strong communication skills with desire to meet everyone at their level of experience Enjoyment from working with children and keeping positive relationships with their parents USAG Safety Certification Preferred The responsibilities we will trust you with: Provide a safe environment, encouraging, and supportive environment that allows members and participants to learn YMCA programs and have an enjoyable YMCA gymnastics experience in their specific progressive or competitive program Arrive at least 15 minutes before scheduled class and be prepared with equipment set up and ready to begin at scheduled time Evaluate program skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents; complete incident reports; take attendance Assist in the instruction of program skills and character development objectives and techniques in accordance with YMCA standards Provide supervision to program participants and actively participate in all aspects of the program Wear proper attire in accordance with YMCA standards Manage participant behavior using collaborative approach with supervision and parents Follow approved positive support techniques to develop and refine gymnast’s skills Attend staff meetings and trainings as required What you can expect: Support from an amazing team which includes training you on expectations Opportunities to learn and grow Being a part of a non-profit organization that works to make the community stronger Great members to work with every day!
