Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Adult Training Instructor to support individuals in our Adult Training Program. This role focuses on delivering structured activities, developing life skills, and promoting independence in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

  • Key responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans based on participant goals (ISPs)
  • Facilitate daily educational and life skills activities
  • Track progress and complete required documentation (daily data, monthly notes)
  • Support participants with activities of daily living as needed
  • Ensure proper use of equipment and adherence to care plans
  • Plan and participate in community-based activities and outings
  • Collaborate with team members to provide consistent, high-quality care
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field preferred (or 4+ years of relevant experience)
  • Experience with lesson planning, group facilitation, or classroom management
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record

Requirements

  • Ability to assist with lifting and physical support of participants as needed
  • Ability to pass background checks in accordance with NJ Department of Human Services
  • Compliance with Central Registry and Child Abuse Registry requirements
  • Pre-employment and random drug screening
  • Completion of required trainings (CPR/First Aid, College of Direct Support, etc.)
