Job Description
Fall/Winter Clinical Internship for Master’s-Level Students | 400–600 Hours | Starts mid-August | Apply by July 1 | Limited, competitive placements STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES Supervised and trained by Centerstone staff (this internship works with community members of all ages and their families) Conduct therapy with individuals and their families who are receiving mental & behavioral health services Take client data Observe and participate in therapy services Conduct individual and family therapy during time of internship Participate in program duties to ensure program runs smoothly WORK SCHEDULE Internship opportunity is available within Murfreesboro City Schools and will primarily serve elementary school settings within Murfreesboro, Tennessee. This placement offers valuable hands-on experience supporting children and school communities while working alongside experienced behavioral health and educational professionals. Scheduling is flexible based on both school needs and internship requirements. Part-time schedules, including three-day placements, may be accommodated, while opportunities for up to 40 hours per week may be available for interns seeking expanded field experience and clinical exposure. QUALIFICATIONS Working toward a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy (MFT) and within the final year of study Interest in gaining experience working with adults, children and their families Demonstrated history of being able to work independently and manage multiple priorities Ability to work with data; detail-oriented Excellent communication skills Must be able to commit to 20-40 hours a week BENEFITS FOR THE STUDENT Students will have hands on experience interacting with clients. Students will have the opportunity to enhance professional skills. Additionally, students will gain experience working with a wide range of diagnosis across multiple demographics, often resulting in increased marketability post masters. OTHER INFORMATION If selected, students will be guided to fulfill a background check and provide five (5) references as part of the Centerstone onboarding process. This is an unpaid internship.
