As a Teacher, you will provide exceptional care and education for children and their families.

You will be responsible for implementing our comprehensive educational program in your assigned classroom, while supervising and guiding Instructional Assistants and Associate Teachers.

Your work will support CAPSLO’s mission to deliver a high-quality, enriching educational experience for all enrolled children and their families.

What you bring to the table: Depending on the department assigned, a valid California driver’s license, a current DMV driving record, and proof of insurance may be required to fulfill job-related travel.

Teacher I : Has an AA/AS Has 24 units of Early Childhood Education/Child Development Has 6 months related teaching experience RCCP, Child Development Teacher Permit or higher.

Teacher II: BA/BS 12 units of Early Childhood Education/Child Development 1 year related teaching experience 3 units Supervised Field Experience Child Development Teacher Permit or higher.

As a Teacher You Will: Support Center Supervisor in ensuring quality experiences for children and families, adhering to laws, regulations, and policies.

Coordinate and conduct home visits and parent conferences, scheduling at convenient times for families (may include evenings and weekends).

Plan and implement the center's education plan, individualizing for each child and tracking development with parental input.

Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of program requirements (Child/Family Files, Lesson Plans, Curriculum planning, Assessments, Transition Plans, Meal counts, Tracking sheets).

Ensure the center environment is developmentally appropriate, safe, and offers diverse experiences.

Supervise children visually at all times.

Participate in physical activities with children, involving various movements (lifting, bending, etc.).

Attend and participate in staff meetings and required trainings.

Inform Center Supervisor of any issues related to children/families or program operations.

Ensure quality educational experiences for all children, including those with disabilities.

Aid children in developing self-help skills (toileting, feeding, dressing, etc.).

Implement Individual Education Plans (IEP) and Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Follow program policies and procedures for daily operations.

Participate in housekeeping duties, ensuring proper sanitation as designated by the Health Coordinator.

Maintain confidentiality of family records and information.

Provide appropriate guidance to children, ensuring their personal rights are maintained.

Act as a Mandated Reporter of Child Abuse and Neglect, following reporting procedures.

Use reasonable precautions and adhere to safety rules to ensure maximum safety for self, employees, and children.

Perform other duties as needed.
