The Department of English at Fairfield University invites applications for an adjunct professor to teach a one or two summer sections of English 1010: Introduction to Literature and Cultural Studies at the Fairfield-Bellarmine campus. Course sections run Monday through Thursday, July 6-August 7. Candidates must hold an M.A. or Ph.D. in English or related field. This position comes with the opportunity to help contribute to a highly successful academic program that is at the forefront of improving access to liberal education. Located at the Bridgeport, CT campus, Fairfield-Bellarmine seeks to expand liberal arts education in an area currently underserved by higher education opportunities. The program offers small class sizes and individualized advising. The curriculum includes core classes in the liberal arts which are foundational to Jesuit higher education, as well as majors in professional fields of engineering, health studies, business, and liberal arts. Students who graduate from this program will matriculate into four-year degree programs at Fairfield or elsewhere, or enter directly into the professions. Students also have access to support services, including career advising, counseling, food service, technology support, and campus ministry.
